The New Audi Q5 Fitted with 18 inch Wheels and Tyres

As standard, the Audi Q5 model is fitted with 235/60 tyres on 18" wheels, but Audi have chosen to fit the press car with the lower, 255/45 tyres on 20" wheels. It's a combination which can not possibly have been considered ideal for the car by the engineers, but which must instead have been suggested by the marketing department. The only reason that a customer would specify these wheels and tyres would be to improve the look of their car. But the Tyre and Alloy Wheel mix is thought to ruin the Q5 model as it makes the car feel clumsier than it really is, and spoils the ride on many road surfaces. On dry and smooth tarmac the wheel and tyre option might give you a little extra grip, but on wet roads, or roads with snow on them, they make the Q5 feel very unsure of itself . It strikes you as ironic that a four-wheel drive SUV should inspire so little confidence in less than ideal road conditions, when it should be performing at it's best.
